Application Connector mating
Connector mating: the click lives in the force curve.
The push, the click, the check. Whether a connector has latched shows up in a force signal, not in pixels. Taktil records this moment with skilled workers and makes it usable as training data for robots.
What happens when a connector latches.
During mating the force rises until the latch gives way. Then it drops briefly, often with an audible click, and the part is seated. A practised hand feels this point and stops pushing.
For a robot this is the hard part. Push too little and the connector is only half seated. Push too hard and the contacts suffer. And if the connector sits crooked, it has to start over. Connectors are everywhere: in harnesses, in control cabinets, on circuit boards and in automotive final assembly.
What the capture shows.
- 01The force curveRise, give, drop. This is how a model recognizes that the connector is seated.
- 02The grip on approachHow the fingers hold and align the connector before force is applied.
- 03The view from the wristThe wrist camera sees what the fingers themselves hide.
- 04The checkA short pull after the click to see whether the connection holds.
- 05The second attemptA connector set crooked, pulled back, realigned. This is exactly how a robot learns to correct itself.
What robotics teams receive.
Skilled workers at partner plants volunteer to wear a capture kit during normal production. It records, all synchronized:
- 01Tactile and force signals at the fingertips
- 02Full hand and finger pose
- 03First-person and wrist video
- 04Action labels, time-aligned and quality-checked

For plants where connectors are mated.
We are onboarding our first partner plants in Europe and Latin America. Partners receive a share of the value their data creates, their own copy of the data, and an automation study for their line.
Participation is voluntary with opt-out at any time, and data is never used to assess individual performance.
