Application Control cabinet wiring
Control cabinet wiring automation: understand the hand first.
Stripping, inserting and fastening wires in tight spaces: inside the cabinet, finger control decides. Taktil records this work with the force at the fingertips and turns it into training data for robots.
Why cabinets are still wired by hand.
Wires are often cut and fitted with ferrules automatically today. Inside the cabinet, however, wiring is still largely done by hand. The first wiring robots work mainly where many identical cabinets are built.
Every cabinet has its own layout, wires have to go around ducts and components, terminals sit close together. What counts is how much pressure a wire needs on insertion and when the terminal grips.
The tasks inside the cabinet.
- 01StrippingThe insulation has to come off without damaging the strands. The hand meters the force.
- 02Inserting the wireStraight into the terminal block opening, with enough pressure until the spring grips.
- 03FasteningWith screw terminals, the hand turns until the resistance comes, then stops.
- 04Routing in the ductPressing wires into the cable duct and guiding them around components, in tight spaces.
- 05Pull testA short pull on the wire shows whether it holds. If not, the task starts over.
What robotics teams receive.
Skilled workers at partner plants volunteer to wear a capture kit during normal production. It records, all synchronized:
- 01Tactile and force signals at the fingertips
- 02Full hand and finger pose
- 03First-person and wrist video
- 04Action labels, time-aligned and quality-checked

For plants that build control cabinets.
We are onboarding our first partner plants in Europe and Latin America. Partners receive a share of the value their data creates, their own copy of the data, and an automation study for their line.
Participation is voluntary with opt-out at any time, and data is never used to assess individual performance.
